I started shag dancing at age ?? and it's been my life ever since. I am a multiple-time National Shag Dance Championships finalist in the Pro Division, including back-to-back runner-up finishes, and a proud inductee of the Beach Shaggers National Hall of Fame. I've spent 25+ years competing at the highest levels of Carolina Shag — and I'm still on the floor. My goal on DanceProfessor is simple: give you the technique, the feel, and the confidence to dance shag the right way and love every step.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
I started shag dancing at age of ?? and I was hooked from the first step. I joined the CSA circuit, worked through the Amateur and Novice divisions, and earned my way into the Pro Division — where I've competed at the national level for over 25 years.
My longest partnership in the Pro Division was with Mandy Holt. Together we placed in the top five at the National Shag Dance Championships four consecutive years, finishing runner-up in 2004. Those years on the floor together shaped me as a dancer and competitor.
Later, I partnered with Nikki Kontoulas. We competed across the CSA circuit, and in 2016 we reached the pinnacle of the National Shag Dance Championships — finishing 2nd in the Pro Division Overall. That partnership meant everything to me, and it culminated in one of my proudest moments: our joint induction into the Beach Shaggers National Hall of Fame.
Today I compete at the Masters level and I'm still hungry. I also serve as a featured Shag instructor at major swing events including Charlotte WestieFest and Carolina Summer Swing — two of the most respected events in the Carolinas.
